Workshop for Primary School Staff - Truro 12 July 2011

Understanding, identifying and supporting speech, language and communication needs in the Primary Classroom.

This is an ideal opportunity for Primary SENCOs, teachers and teaching assistants to refresh and up-skill in this vitally important area. The workshop also includes a session with Craig Green, owner of SLT focused publishing house Clickety Books. Learn about new speech resources and the parent’s role. Some comments from schools who attended our Devon workshops in June:

“Understanding more about speech development and when to be concerned. Very informative."
Year 1 teacher, Wynstream Primary School.

“It was good to have it confirmed that what we do is right and that there are extra resources available to help.”
Foundation Stage Manager, St John’s primary School.

“Craig (Clickety Books) was fantastic and inspirational. Will be looking into these resources.”
SENCO, Decoy Primary School.

The workshops are led by Anne Ayre and Emma Dean. They have extensive experience of working within education settings and have contributed to recent projects commissioned by the DCSF/DfE, the Nuffield Foundation and the CommunicationTrust who lead the Hello campaign.
